3 rounds boxing sparring
1 round focus gloves
1 round heavy bag
1 round floor bag
1 round partnered footwork drill
1 round free style footwork
During our boxing we worked quite a bit on getting into Carpentiers guard and keeping in a mirror stance…1st round I did this and the second, Justin did. The result was a lot of movement but not much landing, great defensive position. A bit weak ont eh offensive side but well worth working on. 3rd round we both used more of a Dempsey active method and mixed it up a bit.
My hip was still a bit sore from last week so no grappling this time around.
We broke out the long sticks for some JdP…the first time is quite a while. Fun but taxing if you have not been keeping up with it and we definitely have not. Of course now that the weather has turned south we will most likely have to wait until the spring before we dig back into this.
